There are lots of different ways that you can relax. Our favorite way is to sit in a hot room and sweat. You can call this room any number of things – Sauna, Banya, Hammam, Shvitz, Thermae, Mushi-Buro, JimJilBang, Sweat Lodge, Turkish Bath or Steam Room – and we’ll be there. We’re thinking that because you’re reading this, you would be there too.

For this website, we’re using the word “Sauna” to describe both the hot-air bath, such as a Finnish sauna, and a facility containing many different thermal baths like a Roman Thermae, or Korean JimJilBang.

Our goal is, with your help, to create the internet’s authoritative resource for the sauna lovers of the world. With your submissions and reviews, we hope to get there. Of course, we’ll be adding what we’ve found through our travels and research here, along with other sauna-related information we feel that you would value.

Of course, this site is a work in progress, and we value all of your comments and suggestions for improvements, and most of all your interaction.

Our site name comes from another enthusiast site: Screamscape, The Ultimate Guide to Theme Parks. When we’re not sitting still and sweating, hurtling along a track on a roller coaster comes in a close second for the best way to pass your leisure time.
