Fildorado originally opened in 1970 as the first family water park in Germany. The idea was innovative, but by the mid-2000's, Fildorado had become a jumble of areas that made little sense. So they bulldozed the whole original complex and built a brand new one on the old site that opened in 2006.
The new facility is state of the art German water recreation. A swimsuits-required pool area has water slides, wave pools, lap swimming and many other specialties. The sauna area features a variety of thermal treatments both indoors and out. Admission to the sauna area also includes admission to the pools.
